Major Hector Carmona Memorial Trophy

Major Hector Carmona graduated first in his class at the Chilean Military Academy. Impressed with his riding, coaching and training skills, the Academy retained him as an instructor and riding competitor. He was successful in international dressage, three day eventing and jumping. He competed throughout South America, at the Pan American Games, World Championships and in Olympic games. Coming to the United States as a trainer, coach and international show judge, he coached the United States Silver Medal team at the 1967 Pan American Games. In 1966, he co-founded one of the first dressage schools in the United States, Los Alamos Dressage Center, with Gail Hoff-Carmona, his wife. This trophy was donated in 1987.
