USEF Levels – Open Preliminary
USEA levels – Open Training, Training Rider, Open Novice, Novice Rider, Beginner Novice Rider, Beginner Novice Horse
Non-USEA levels – Starter Rider, Starter Horse

Additional Awards – these are additional awards/divisions you may enter (if qualified) in addition to your entry in one of the regular USEF and USEA classes above.  These divisions are placed separately from the open divisions.  If entering, specify on entry form in addition to USEA Classes above:

ESDCTA Championship Divisions (must be qualified) – Starter, Beginner Novice, Novice, Training, Preliminary (Jr/Sr)

Adult Team Divisions – Teams of 4 at any level – specify your team members on the entry form, or write “put me on a team” if you want to be on a team but don’t have any team members.  We will find you a team.

IEL College Team Challenge – Enter your College Team (may be across Divisions) for the College Team Grand Prize. There is no additional fee to compete as a team.  Prizes will be awarded to all members of the first place team.

Entries
a) Cost per class:

Entries Postmarked August 16 – August 30:  Starter $140, Beginner Novice $160, Novice $180, Training $185, Preliminary $195.

Entries Postmarked August 31 – September 13:  Starter $175, Beginner Novice $190, Novice $195, Training $205, Preliminary $215.

  1. b) Double entries not accepted. Starter competitors are exempt from USEA membership/non-membership fees and USEA Starter/D&M fees.

 

  1. c) Beginner Novice riders who are not USEA members must pay an extra $25 non-member fee with entry.
  2. d) Non-competing horses must pay a $25 fee, plus the $20 haul in fee, sign in at the office and wear an assigned number while on the Horse Park grounds.
  3. e) No changes to entry after closing date, unless allowed by the secretary, but absolutely no changes will be accepted after September 30. Each change will cost $30.
  4. f) Make checks payable to: ESDCTA, Inc., include e-mail address on entry.
  5. g) Negative Coggins within 12 months is required.
  6. h) Post entries accepted after the closing date through September 27 at the discretion of the organizer and will include a $50 late fee.

Refund policy:

Refunds must be received in writing or email.

Prior to closing date:  Refunds will be given for entry cancellations less the $30 office fee. Stabling refunded in full.

After the closing date:  Refunds will be given for entry cancellations less the $30 office fee, if the ride times can be filled from the waiting list.   Stabling refunded regardless less $25 per day/night.

Refunds due to injury of horse or rider:  Rider/Owner MUST notify the secretary in writing or via email prior to the competition and MUST provide doctor/veterinary note specifically indicating that rider/horse are not physically able to compete at the Oct 2 competition.  Entry refunds will be given as follows:   Starter:  $75, Beg Nov $85, Nov $95, Tr:  $110, Prelim:  $120.  Stabling refunded less $15 per day/night.

No refunds are guaranteed for “acts of god” which require management to cancel divisions or day of competition, however if possible a partial refund may be given.

Schedule
Saturday, October 1 – Cross country courses open for inspection at 3 pm.

Sunday, October 2 – 8:00 am – Dressage (order of go Prelim, Training, Nov, Beg Nov, Starter), Stadium Jumping starts @ 9:20 am, Cross country starts at 9:40 am – ride times will be 10 minutes after horse’s Stadium round.

Awards
Regular Divisions (all competitors are entered in the regular USEA divisions that they specify): Trophy and 8 ribbons in each division.

ESDCTA Championship divisions – mounted awards following the show jumping rounds for each division.  Trophy and 8 ribbons in each division.

Team Divisions – Team Trophy and 4 ribbons per team.  Ribbons through 8th place.

Intercollegiate Team Divisions – Team Trophy and 4 ribbons per team.  Ribbons through 8th place.

Arenas
Small arenas – All-weather footing composed of sand and screenings for dressage and stadium arenas.

Stabling
275 permanent stalls on grounds, $60/night. Day stalls available at $45/ea. Stall doors only provided. Bedding available for purchase. Additional info from secretary. NO STRAW ALLOWED.

Starter: 2014 USEF Beginner Novice Test A

Cross Country
Lengths and speeds for levels:

Preliminary: 3600m @ 520 mpm
Training: 2500m @ 470 mpm
Novice: 2000m @ 350 mpm
BN: 1700m @ 325 mpm
Starter: 1500m @ 275 mpm, fence heights – 2′ to 2’3″ and will include a run through water.

Terrain
Rolling, great footing. BN, N, T, P courses: Average difficulty for horses with some experience at these levels. Water complex for all levels! Starter level – fence heights will be 2’3″ max.

Show Jumping – will be held on grass, footing permitting.

NJ Tpk to exit 7A (I-195 East) to Exit 11. Turn left at top of ramp. At Stop sign, turn right on County Route 524 Horse Park is on left 1.5 miles.

From East
Garden State Pkwy to Exit 98 (I-195 West) to Exit 11. Turn right at top of ramp. Follow as above.
