USDF REGION 1 YOUTH DRESSAGE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS The USDF Region 1 Youth Dressage Team Championships for 2006 will be held at Morven Park in Leesburg, Va. on July 22-23. This competition is for riders 21 years and under. Riders compete in a team format at levels from Walk-Trot through FEI. Typically, the show organizers plan social events and riding demonstrations. Roving trainers are typically available so that mini-clinics can be provided for any competitors that may desire such on-site coaching support. Three teams of three or four riders will be sponsored by ESDCTA for these championships. The organization will fund entry and stabling fees. Other expenses will be the obligation of the competitors. In addition, if potential competitors exhibit sufficient interest, other fund-raising events to defray expenses further can be organized. Team results in age and USDF-level appropriate divisions are determined by the cumulative dressage test scores for two dressage tests for each team member. Teams are recognized in a mounted awards ceremony by division in the order of the highest-to-lowest cumulative team scores in each division. In addition to the mandatory team dressage tests, riders can also compete in age and level appropriate dressage seat equitation or musical freestyle classes.
