ESDCTA Youth ProgramESDCTA Youth Program ESDCTA provides diverse opportunities for the development of horsemanship skills, good sportsmanship and other appropriate behaviors for our younger members through participation in ESDCTA activities – shows, horse trials, workshops, clinics, etc. The organization sponsors activities for both dressage riders and eventers of age 21 years and younger. The organization works actively with US Dressage Federation Region 1 and USA Eventing Area II to promote member participation in both competitive and educational opportunities at local and regional levels. Numerous and varied positions that can contribute to member development are offered through the organization’s Volunteer Program. Skill development opportunities for our young riders are readily available through the fulfillment of volunteer responsibilities at ESDCTA-sponsored activities. Examples include scribing for judges or clinicians and activity planning and set-up (we always need more volunteers!). Some financial support is available for particular youth activities (e.g., see the Region 1 Youth Dressage Team Championships section below) or through the Grants/Scholarship program (see the section on Educational Grants). ESDCTA provides formal recognition annually for the developmental steps of our young riders through the Year-End Awards Program and the annual awards dinner typically held in January or February (to recognize member accomplishments for the previous year). Through this program, noteworthy accomplishments are recognized and rewarded for both our young dressage riders and eventers. For 2008, the ESDCTA Youth Program will be led by Jill Kuc. Contact her at: RR3 Box 541 610-681-6033; esea@ptd.net Application and volunteer forms are typically available on the ESDCTA website: www.esdcta.org. Qualifications for ESDCTA Youth activities vary. Please consult specific sections below or contact the program leader, Jill Kuc. In the following sections, information is provided for key ESDCTA supported activities: USDF Region 1 Youth Dressage Team Championships Youth Dressage Festival USEA Area II XC Schooling Clinics If there is member interest in other youth dressage or eventing activities, please inform Jill Kuc.
